I am in private practice in the field of speech and language disorders. I have over 30 years of experience in various settings: public school, developmental center, hospital, rehabilitation, and nursing homes. I have worked with all ages from infants to centenarians.
To meet the needs of the public I am particularly targeting poor swallowing patterns of tongue thrust or reverse swallow in conjunction with persistent articulation problems and orthodontics. In addition, I have expertise in a wide range of other speech or communication disorders, including voice abuse/misuse and can implement or supplement therapy according to individual therapeutic needs year round. I am a nationally Certified Speech Language Pathologist, an Orofacial Myology Specialist and a Recognized Fluency Specialist.
As a member of both the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM), I am a strong believer in home practice and positive reinforcement to maximize progress and carryover of skills in as short a time as possible. In order to achieve success, patients are encouraged to set aside time for some daily practice and make use of other opportunities as they occur. Significant others’ role includes being empathetic and supportive. My goal is to teach new skills in a hierarchal sequence and to motivate you to participate as I guide the program to completion.
I have professional and client references available upon request. At your convenience, I look forward to serving you. After reviewing the information, please contact me if you have any questions and to schedule an appointment.
